John BachhuberVice President Total Rewards, Mortenson
John Bachhuber is an innovative Total Rewards leader with a unique, multifaceted perspective built across four distinct industries. Currently Vice President of Total Rewards at Mortenson (construction), his prior leadership career includes driving compensation strategy at Thomson Reuters (information services/media), Thrivent Financial (financial services), and Medtronic (healthcare/medical technology).

Throughout his career, John has led comprehensive initiatives across the entire spectrum of Total Rewards, including executive and sales compensation, complex base pay structures, short and long term incentive plan design. Blending a data-driven approach with a focus on workplace culture, he specializes in navigating large-scale organizational growth and building high-performing teams that align employees with company strategy.

Derek BollVice President & Controller, Mortenson
Derek Boll is a finance leader with over 15 years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, and financial operations across construction, manufacturing, and healthcare industries. He currently serves as Vice President and Controller at Mortenson, where he oversees accounting operations and financial reporting in support of the company’s growth and commitment to operational excellence.

At Mortenson, Derek previously held roles as Director of Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting Manager, where they built scalable processes and strengthened financial controls. Earlier experience includes leadership positions at Wagner Spray Tech and Medtronic, along with over six years in public accounting at KPMG. This foundation includes deep expertise in audit, financial reporting, and risk management, as well as international experience in Sydney, Australia.

Derek holds a degree from Gustavus Adolphus College. He is known for his pragmatic, data-driven approach with a focus on driving clarity, accountability, and continuous improvement across finance functions.

Kevin BeglenSr. Principal, Mercer
Kevin Beglen is a Senior Principal at Mercer and is the Career Business Growth Leader for Minnesota.  He regularly advises compensation committees and executive teams on the strategy and design of executive and broad-based compensation programs.

Kevin partners with organizations to design short-term and long-term incentive plans to drive behaviors consistent with company philosophy and strategy.
